Bentley is on the A31, convenient for M3/M25/A3 and for Heathrow, Gatwick and Southampton airports. It has its own station with an hourly service to London.
There are good pubs and restaurants within a short drive. There is also a shop and The Star pub, with restaurant, in the village, both within walking distance.
Jane Austen’s house at Chawton and Gilbert White’s house at Selborne are within 5 miles. The steam trains on the Watercress Line from Alton to Alresford are a great attraction for young and old. The Georgian towns of Farnham, Alresford and Winchester are all easy to visit.
Hampshire is full of beautiful gardens – Wisley is within half an hour just past Guildford on the A3, as well as The Vyne and Hinton Ampner.
Nearby is Alice Holt Forest with bicycle hire, walks and Go Ape, which is also close to Birdworld and a large garden centre.
The wedding venues of Bury Court and Northbrook House are close; Bury Court within walking distance.
Bentley is only a short distance to the Farnborough International Air Show in July.
In Alton and Farnham, you can find local butchers and regular farmers’ markets, as well as Marks & Spencers, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s. Or if you’d rather not think about cooking, try ‘Cook’ in Farnham who provide a wide variety of delicious meals.
